Season strives for and contributes to environmental awareness by using minimal packaging, recycling production waste, and sewing protective masks from leftover fabrics. We share a selection of Ukrainian brands that care about nature.
Roussin
The main principle of Sofia Rusinovich’s sustainable brand is recycling. The range includes T-shirts made from old collections and dyed using the tie-dye method, a No-waste sweatshirt made from scraps of fabric left over from sewing, items made from reflective fabric for road safety, and bags made from plastic bags and films.
Suburban Europe
To save the planet, you don’t have to deny yourself beautiful outfits. In Suburban Europe, you will definitely find the “very” dress that you have been imagining. There are things made of natural fabrics for every day, as well as for holidays and costume parties.
Ksenia Schnaider
One of the most famous Ukrainian designers has become famous not only for her extremely stylish ready-to-wear shows, but also for her eco-conscious approach to fashion. Most of her brand’s pieces are made from scraps of unwanted textiles or recycled materials, but they look absolutely modern and comfortable to wear even on a daily basis.
RCR Khomenko
Just a few years ago, the young designer Yasia Khomenko was considered an eccentric: why would she alter old clothes when she could buy new textiles? Now her brand’s showroom has become a mecca for eco-conscious fashionistas from both Ukraine and neighboring countries. The young designer buys clothes in second-hand stores and sews one-of-a-kind garments with bright Andy Warhol-style prints.
Ochis
Ukrainian startups are promoting eco-consciousness to the masses at the European level: this brand produces frames for the world’s first sustainable glasses. The accessories are made of biodegradable material that contains coffee. The founders of the brand claim that it can even be composted!
